If you’re looking for ways to help extend the mission of Love The Neighbor Foundation into your community, then volunteering may be for you!
We have a variety of ways you and your friends and family can get involved at our free workshops. These workshops are wonderful opportunities for seniors and their caregivers to listen to industry professionals and learn about valuable services to help older adults stay independent in their own homes. We have many ways for our volunteers to stay involved, but here are some of the duties you can expect when volunteering for one of our workshops.
Volunteer activities can include any of the following:
- Assist with workshop planning and promotion, and recruitment of additional volunteers
- Community outreach to senior centers, invitations to the workshop
- Using computer expertise to design workshop materials/flyers, and distribute email invitations to LTNF’s database of attendees
- Phone calls to vet event speakers, plus current and new senior services
- Helping to set up and tear down workshop rooms (nothing too strenuous)
- Procure refreshments and workshop supplies
- Distribute workshop materials/flyers
- Monitoring event registration, checking in attendees
- Help distribute and run the refreshment table during the event
- Assist with workshop Q&A and facilitating questions during the event from the attendees to the speaker
