Your loved one’s community may already have visiting policies in place. A majority of senior communities are reopening in phases to prevent a mass of visitors entering the community at one time. Seniors are the most vulnerable during these unprecedented times and communities are working closely with the Department of Health and CDC to prevent an outbreak of COVID 19 on their campuses. Senior living communities and assisted living communities “may be in a better position to contain the spread of the disease”, according to the CDC. This is partly because they can limit the amount of people coming in by using one main point of entry. Contact the community and ask the receptionist what their visiting policies are at this time.
